Biggar hosts When the Elephant Came to the Fair
Howe (1780-1836) was born in Skirling and made a name for himself as an animal painter but this is the first time a collection of his work has been brought together.
For the final month of the exhibition, due to close on October 31, the Museum – which opened only weeks ago in Biggar High Street – is waiving the £3 charge for admission to the exhibition area (although visitors still have to pay admission to the Museum itself, unless they live in the ML12 area).

Hide AdThe Trust, however, as a charity running the new museum, hopes that those visiting the Howe paintings will be impresseed enough by the exhibition, called When the Elephant Came to the Fair, to make a donation! The free entry includes Biggar Little Festival time, an ideal time to catch this unique exhibition.
