Lesmahagow volunteers are real Diamonds
But this image couldn’t be further from the lifestyle of remarkable Lesmahagow pensioner Tom Morris, who grafts hard doing voluntary work on seven days a week for a total of over 30 hours.
For the past three and a half years, Tom has helped his local WRVS by making home visits to vulnerable pensioners, or driving them to a hairdresser, shop or hospital up to 35 miles away.

Tom, and fellow local WRVS volunteer Myrtle Macdonald (70), who has done voluntary work for 40 years, have been named Diamond Champions by the WRVS for their service.
